THE LOVE STORY
Being able to laugh together is fundamental to any loving relationship, and it is with laughter and joy that this love story begins. If you ask Tessa and Connor how they first met, it will inevitably bring a smile to both of their faces at the ongoing joke they have shared since becoming a couple; “You can’t find love at a bar, but then there is us!”
Tessa and Connor’s love story began in a country bar in Flagstaff, AZ where Tessa was working as a bartender. Connor having just been hired as a bouncer experienced a moment of love at first sight when he showed up to work and laid eyes on the woman behind the bar who instantly stole his heart. It wasn’t until four months later that Connor made his carefully calculated move, but the wait proved to be well worth it, as soon after, Connor was joining Tessa and her family for Thanksgiving dinner which would be a defining moment in their budding relationship.
“During that first Thanksgiving, my dad wanted Connor to join us in the family photo. I knew if my dad liked him enough to be in a family photo then I should let my walls down and give our relationship a chance to grow. From that day forward the more time we spent together, the more I fell in love with him.”
The words that truly come from the heart are often simple, as love is a phenomenon that is felt more so than seen or heard. Connor’s proposal was simple in design, but for Tessa, it was a perfect proposal that said in a few words how loved she was and how much she meant to him.
“I was studying for finals and Connor simply showed me the ring and told me, ‘I want to be there for all the stressful and crazy good moments of your life. I promise to be there for all of it.”
“I said yes and then we went and celebrated over beers!”
THE PERFECT DAY
Having the love of the country in their hearts, they both knew a country wedding was the only location for their union as husband and wife. Their search for a venue led them over a hundred miles southeast of where the first met until they finally found the perfect place.
“Our venue was in Show Low, AZ at Torreon. We loved the country yet elegant feel of the venue. They also had plenty of cabins nearby for all our guests.” Surrounded by family, friends, and even a few beautiful horses, their wedding day was full of special moments from start to finish, but it was the laughter and love they shared on that day that they cherish most.
“We played the shoe game which was a lot of fun since we had our wedding party pick the questions for us to answer! We also wrote our own vows and that was very meaningful. We give each other a hard time and poke fun at one another but at the end of the day, we encourage and love each other. There is nowhere else I would rather be than with him.”
