Tying together all the details of your wedding is no easy feat. With a seemingly endless number of tasks, it can be challenging to enjoy the planning process while managing contracts with your venue, organizing your guest list, coordinating with your wedding photographers, videographers, vendors, along with the many other aspects involved in planning a wedding. During this process, the insight of an experienced team can be invaluable in bringing your vision to life, which is why we met up with one of our Wedding Photography team’s favorite vendors in the San Francisco Bay Area, Robyn Diane Events, to share some tips and inside knowledge on the wedding business.

What first inspired you to start your company?

I love doing events, but I had started my career with corporate events. I helped a friend plan her wedding and I realized how much I loved it, so I helped another friend and another. It began to snowball into something I was doing for fun on the side and I realized it was time to make it official. I applied for an LLC and started to grow the business, then last year I started doing weddings full time and I haven't looked back!

What is your favorite part of the event planning/wedding industry?

I really love being there to celebrate such a special day in a couples' life - and I get to be the one making sure the day goes smoothly for them!

If you were to make one recommendation to couples you work with, what would it be?

My recommendation is actually to hire a good wedding photographer. Those are your memories of the day and it goes by fast! It's so nice to have beautiful photos of the day to look back on.

What is your favorite wedding memory to date?

I recently worked with a wonderful couple who had such a special moment during their ceremony vows. The groom was Dutch and English was his second language. During the repeat after me section, he stumbled a bit on the words - because again, English is his second language and he was also emotional because it's his wedding and he's marrying the love of his life. The bride was holding his hands and she just sort of squeezed his hands and looked into his eyes and nodded her encouragement. You could tell it was her way of telling him that she was there for him. It was just this really beautiful moment between them and I'll always remember it.
